What Paperwork Do I Need to Sell My Car in Kansas?
So, you want to sell your old car. In Kansas, there are many steps you'll need to take to sell your car if you choose to do so privately. If you're getting ready to post an ad online in the Bel Aire and Derby region, make sure to go over this list of things you'll need to grab before making a sale:
- A Certificate of Title
- A Lien Release, if applicable (form TR-150)
- A Seller's Notification of Sale (form TR-216)
- Odometer Disclosure form TR-59, if applicable
- Bill of Sale form TR-312 (only if the title does not have a line to document the purchase price)
Please Note: A vehicle title is considered a legal document. If selling privately, ensure all parties are printing and signing their legal names only in black or blue ink. Otherwise, the title will be null, which can be tricky when you may not know the recipient well enough to reschedule a transfer. Use of white-out is also not permitted on a title.
